World in Conflict - 5v5 Domination Rules.
World in Conflict - Devotii Rules
5vs5 Domination
Please read through these rules carefully, Failure to do so may result in match results becoming void.
Section I: Prior to a match
Team Leaders should meet on IRC (#Devotii) 30 Minutes before the match is due to start.
During this time, the server should be prepared and be ready for the match start - and the opposing team informed of any changes to the IP and Password to the match server, if any changes have been made.
If there is a problem, please use The Devotii match notes to inform your opponent of the problem, and to join the IRC Channel if they are not already there - Also, bring the problem to the attention of a Devotii admin who will be in the devotii IRC Channel.
Section II: Game type Information
This league is a 5v5 domination ladder.
Domination - Hold/Take as many of the objectives as your team can to generate points, the more objective points you hold, the more points you get. This moves the ‘domination’ bar either in favor or against your side. If the domination bar is fully in favor of one side, the game ends, and that side will have won the round. If time runs out before one side "dominates" the other, the team with the most points/favor wins the round.
The Time Limit for each round is 10 Minutes. This means, per map, you play 2x 10 minute rounds. After the first round is complete, the teams swap sides.
There are specific Squad role rules, 4 Players of a team must choose one of: Armour, Air, Support or Infantry - One for each role. The 5th player is allowed to choose any of these roles and is permitted to switch roles during a match.
Note: The 4 Players who choose a specific role, prior to the match start can't change their role once the match has started. They may change their role previous to the second stage starting.
The allowed maps are as follows:
do_farmland, do_riviera, do_hometown, do_powerplant, do_virginia, do_silo
General Match Information:
Any type of abuse (swearing, racism, etc.) or unsportsmanlike behavior during the match may result in a ban for the offender and his team.
Matches can be played with either one or two maps, depending on the accepted challenge.
The Challenger chooses the map(s) and the challenged team chooses the faction they want to start with on both maps.
Each map is played twice (2x10mins) per map - this allows both teams to play both factions once.
Substations can join the server at any time, but only once the player they are substituting has left the server.
If a client drops, you are allowed to restart the match if the player dropped in the first 1:30 minutes of game play.
Also, if both teams agree, you can also restart the half.
Screen shots MUST be taken at the end of each round, and kept for 14 days in anticipation of any disputes.
Replays MUST be recorded and kept for 14 days in case they are needed for a dispute.
Matches must start within 15 minutes of the original agreed start time. Failure to do so could result in a default loss for the delaying team.
If you do not have 5 Players at match start:
We allow teams to use a minimum of 4 Players. Any less than 4, then this team forfeits the match. These 4 Players MUST choose 1 role each of Armour, Air, Support or Infantry. This means they will not have a player who can swap roles during a match.
Section III: Scoring System
The Scoring system to be used is a variation of the Elo Rating System.
End Scores will be entered as domination percentages - which are to be rounded up/down.
Scores must be entered on the website within 24 hours of the match
Examples:
50.48% would be rounded down to 50%
50.51% would be rounded up to 60%
50.65% would be rounded up to 60%
How are new ratings calculated?
Start points in the ladder 100 Points
For winning a match you get 10 Points
Deducted for losing a match 5
Points added for drawing 3
If you cancel a match on the day of the match you will lose by default unless the other clan/player agrees to a rematch
So score should be entered as such; 10 points for a win -5 points for a loss plus 3 points for a draw.
Section IV: Server Settings
Servers are not allowed to run any plugins, 3rd party or otherwise, during any Devotii Match.
Max Players should be set to 10
Resources must be set to 4000>2000
A Password must be placed on the server
If teams cannot agree on a match server to use, they must use a Massgate server (Massgate Challenge).
If at the time of the match massgate is causing lag to both teams, please bring this to the attention of a admin via IRC: #devotii.admins @ Quakenet.
The admin will decide whether to postpone the match.
If a admin isn’t available, the match must be played as planned.
Please see Section VII for Complete server settings.
Section V: General Conduct
No 3rd party software is permitted to be used that would give you an unfair advantage (Excludes voice comms)
No Ghosting
No kicking opposing players from the server once the match is started is permitted. The team that commits this offence will automatically forfeit the match.
Starting the game with the wrong settings may result in the match becoming void - never side will benefit from this. Please Check server settings before starting a match.
Any Application which can be used to aid a player to gain a unfair advantage over their opponent is illegal within the league, and within massgate - This is Cheating.
Section VI: User Accounts (ID's)
All players must register their Massgate account Name on Devotii, before any matches are played. Failure to do so may result in forfeiting any matches that the player(s) without ID's have played in.
Multiple massagate accounts on Devotii World In Conflict are Forbidden. Any used caught having more than one account may be banned.
