Today the Elecronic Sports League (ESL) announced the start of the Battlefield 2142 Amateur Series. At the same time they announced that Battlefield 2142 is going to be one of the supported ESL Pro Series Games for the 11th season - presented by Intel.

With the ESL Amateur Series, which serves as qualification for the ESL Pro Series, and the ESL Pro Series itself Battlefield 2142 has hereby reached the highest rated league for computer games in Germany. The prizemoney for the ESL Pro Series Season XI - Battlefield 2142 will be 10.000 €.

Further details about the prizes and the rules will be announced later. The ESL Pro Series as well as the ESL Amateur Series will be played in the 4on4 Infantry Modus so that smaller teams also have the chance to play in the highest league of Germany. Besides the qualification to the ESL Pro Series the ESL Amateur Series has also got interesting prizes:
